Is A Deposit Required?

We require a $500 Non-Refundable deposit. If your circumstances require, we allow you to move your deposit to our next litter.

LIMITED AKC REGISTRATION VS. FULL AKC REGISTRATION

Limited Registration means that the dog is registered but no litters produced by the dog are eligible for registration. This is the most common option for people who want a companion or as a pet only.

Full Registration means that you have full breeding rights and litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration. This is used if you plan on breeding your dog in the future.

Sometimes we offer full registration for an additional price, but for the most part we only sell our puppies with limited registration.

How is Picking Order Determined?

Picking is performed in the same order as deposits were received. 

What age does puppy go home?

Each puppy goes home at 8 weeks old. We require this because it gives the puppy more time to socialize with littermates and mom.

Can I Visit?

We try to keep the visits to a minimum for the safety of the puppies and our other dogs. But it's important that you visit at 6 weeks to meet the puppies and fall in love with the one that's right for your family. Also, you may want to visit us before you decide on Contango to meet the mom and learn more about us. 

During the puppy's first eight weeks, we will keep you up to date with pictures and videos of the puppies on our Instagram page.

What Health Testing is Done

OFA hips and elbows after the age of 2, eye exams by a veterinary Ophthalmologist, heart clearances by a board-certified veterinary Cardiologist, and DNA testing for each Golden Retriever in our breeding program.
